How to set up Netgear Orbi RBK50V?

To get started with the Orbi RBK50V setup, you need to make the hardware connection

  1. Turn off your modem and unplug your existing router and replace it with the Orbi router.
  2. Turn on your modem and connect it to the available wall outlet.
  3. Power up your Netgear Orbi router and wait for it power light to show up.
  4. Now, take an Ethernet cable and connect the WAN port of the Orbi router to the modem.
  5. You will now see a solid white light on the Orbi router. It means your Orbi device is connected to the internet.

Setup Netgear orbi satellite

The next step is to install the Netgear Orbi satellite along with your Orbi router; follow these steps:

  1. Place the Netgear Orbi satellite in a central location and connect it to the power source.
  2. You will see a white light on the Orbi satellite.
  3. Press the sync button on the Orbi satellite and then on the Orbi router. Give it a few minutes.
  4. When you see the blue light on the Orbi satellite, it indicates that the sync process is completed.

Connect your computer to the Netgear Orbi router using an Ethernet cable. Attach the one end of the Ethernet cable to the computer and the second end into the yellow port on the Netgear Orbi router.

Make sure your Orbi router and Orbi satellite are powered up. On your computer, check the wifi network list. Find the Orbi wifi network name and enter the wifi password.
