Orbi RBS50 Setup

To enjoy the wireless network even at the patio or backyard of your home, you can add Orbi RBS50 satellite to your Wi-Fi network. With the Orbi RBS50 setup, you can add 2,000 sq. ft. of coverage to your existing Orbi WiFi system. This guide explains to you How to set up Orbi RBS50. Follow the easy procedure.

Step 1- Connect your Orbi router

Remove the modem from the power source and replace the battery. Wait for a few minutes and plug the modem back to the power source.
Use an Ethernet cable to connect the yellow port on the Orbi router to the modem. Plug the cable carefully into the correct ports.
Next, connect the Orbi router to the power outlet. Press the power button and check the LED on the back of the Orbi router. It should be solid green.

Step 2- Place the Orbi Satellite

After completing the initial Orbi router setup, you need to place the Orbi satellite within the range of your existing Orbi router and satellite. Connect the Orbi satellite to the power source. Press the power button on the Orbi satellite and wait for the power light to light green.

Step 3- Sync the Orbi satellite

Your Orbi satellite’s ring light will turn to solid white in two minutes.
Press the ‘Sync’ button on the back of your Orbi router. Wait for 1-2 minutes to press the sync button on the Orbi satellite.
The satellite’s ring light will change to the following colors for about three minutes:

Blue

The RBS50 satellite and Orbi router are synced successfully. The connection is good.

Amber

The connection between the Orbi RBSD50 satellite and Orbi router is fair. You should move the devices closer.

Magenta

The connection between the Orbi RBS50 satellite and router is failed. Try again after bringing the devices closer.

Netgear Orbi RBS50 Router Setup

You need to connect to the Orbi network for Orbi login. This can be done with a wired method or wireless method.

Make sure your Orbi router is plugged into an electrical socket and its power button is switched ON.
Connect the Orbi router to the client device with an Ethernet cable. The one end of the Ethernet cable should be inserted into the LAN port of the router.
Plug the second end of the cable into the Ethernet port on your computer.

Orbi Router Setup | Wireless Connection

Make sure the Orbi RBS50 satellite and router are plugged into a wall outlet and synced to each other.
Check the wireless network list on your client device. Find the Orbi RBS50 SSID from the wireless network list and hit on ‘Connect’
Enter the default Wi-Fi Passkey of the Orbi RBS50 device.
